Gillian Thomas will be leading this session which will be held at her home.
Shibori dyeing is the Japanese art of dyeing with indigo. It is a resist dyeing technique which produces patterns on fabric. Attendees will be able to dye different fabrics using the techniques of stitching, clamping and wrapping to create the resist.
Gillian will set up an indigo bath using synthetic indigo. Once the fabric dyeing is completed the bath can be exhausted by dyeing extra pieces of fabric or skeins of yarn so that the remaining liquid is safe to dispose of.
