Learn how to use dye made from plants grown in Jane’s garden to dye yarn.

Things to bring:

You will need an apron and also some thick rubber gloves if you have any. She has some so no need to buy especially.

A pack of wooden clothes pegs.

If you are taking your own yarn to dye then please mordant it with alum or cream of tartar before you come.

Please bring a piece of WHITE fabric (cotton, linen or silk) for the indigo bath. It could also be a T-shirt, apron or bag etc. but must be white not cream.

She will have mordanted fleece ready for us to dye and about 15 different dye and other mordant baths – sounds AMAZING!!!

Jane also sells fleece to dye if you want to buy extra to take home. It costs £15 per 1lb bag.

Come prepared for all weathers but most of the workshop takes place under a tarpaulin.
Plant material is gathered from her garden so have sensible footwear! 👍.

I suggest a notebook, pen and phone/camera too.

Lunch is not provided so please bring your own.

This ALL DAY  workshop will be run by Jane Meredith and will take place at her home on the river Wye: The Forge, Byford, Herefordshire, HR4 7LD

Cost will be between £20 and £25
